A FAREWELL TO BULLFIGHT
after Jack London’s The Madness of John Harned
The film is based on The Madness of John Harned, a novel by Jack London, and contains Ernest Hemingway's little-known statements. The arena guards its secrets violently. But one day it opens its doors to a Russian judo sportsman who by chance gets into the thick of things in Pamplona during a fiesta. He refuses to accept the horrors of bullfighting and is thrown to the greatest matador of all ages, the crowd. But killing him turns out to be not that easy a task. More people die on that day than have been killed by bulls in all Spanish arenas in the last fifty years. The arena drinks away the blood once again. Ernest Hemingway's suicide and his last words become the epilogue to the film.

CONFESSION OF THE DEVIL
The story takes place in a special department of a mental hospital. That’s where an allegedly insane and dangerous leader of an Earth Liberation Front organization is kept waiting for the verdict. Not only did he murder 6 hostages, but he also challenged the existing system. His organization is considered terrorist, his friends are kept imprisoned. He refuses to talk, is being constantly drugged and keeps having nightmare flashbacks of the events preceding the arrest.
The only person who finds a way to approach him and get him talking is a young doctor. Apart from being terrifying, the long-awaited confession of the “devil” turns everything upside down. What he is being judged for is striving against a war constantly taking place all over the world, the war against the nature started by people, the war that an average person doesn’t even notice.

INSANITY. CHALLENGE AND FIGHT
We leave in a cruel world. At all times people who challenge barbarism, ignorance and prejudices have been considered social outcasts. The main character of the film, Arthur was no exception. A professional sportsman and philosopher, he thought he could wake people up and change the world. The expression “Animal Liberation is Human Liberation” not only became his motto, it turned into his mission in life. What he didn’t know was what kind of butchery he would be dragged into. His fight against the lawlessness of bureaucracy and the police proved to be way harder than his fiercest fights. Put to a special department of a mental hospital, declared insane, having lost his beloved wife and pets, Arthur doesn’t give up, and the things that couldn't kill him made him even stronger.
